This bike has a freewheel as opposed to a cassette like the Axum does. Kinda limits your upgradability. Also the frame of this bike maxes out at 2.4 where the Axum has a 2.6 and has plenty of clearance for 2.8 plus sized tires. Those seem to be the only limiting factors of the Taff Comp. Same. The Axum at $228 is great if you're willing and able to do some work, but if you don't know how to do some repairs or have a friend who does, it's not going to be a great experience. The problem for me is, I’ve never attempted to replace/upgrade a derailleur before.Plus, the 7-speed drivetrain and mechanical disc brakes complete the package.
